Led Zeppelin 4
Reviewed by Gary Renowden from Birmingham

Purchased 2007.

I agree, this is the ultimate in Zeppelin Fine Art Prints.

I personally like how the old is demolished to make way for the new and so continues the cycle of life!

Intrigued by the picture I went to Butterfield Court in the Eve Hill area of Dudley - and stood at the very spot where this album cover came to life - awesome.

I concur that Eve Hill may be an in-joke ["Ev-il"] by the band.

Check it out and BUY IT NOW!

November 2009

Released on the 8th of November 1971, their 4th album was
sold unnamed & has been generally to as IV, 4, Four Symbols,
Zoso, Runes, Sticks & The Hermit.

Symbols is one of the best selling albums of all time,
selling 37 million (23 of which in the US, making it 3rd of
all time) & in 2003 was ranked 66th on Rolling Stone
Magazine's list of 500 greatest albums of all time.

Initally recorded at Island Records newly openned Basing
Street Studios in London, the band then moved to Hadly
Grange (following the suggestion of Fleetwood Mac), a remote
Victorian house in East Hampshire to conduct additonal
recordings.

The Ultimate in Zeppelin Fine Art Prints. This album
featured classics such as Stairway To Heaven, Black Dog,
When The Levy Breaks...........It sold millions and is
regarded by many people as their finest album. Having been
involved in the original artwork creation, this piece has
been hand signed by Jimmy Page as both the artis and
artiste. This piece is a very important pieceof Rock and
Roll history. Buy one before they disappear for ever!
The tower block on the back cover is of Butterfield Court in
Dudley, England; and not of the now demolished Prince of
Wales Court, as has been said erroneously in the past.
Butterfield Court can be seen, owing to it being 20-storeys
high and on top of a ridge, 25 miles away in rural
Worcestershire and Shropshire and on a clear day, over 45
miles away in Wales.
The painting on the front of the album showing an old man
carrying a bundle of sticks, was apparently purchased from a
junk shop in Reading, Berkshire by a Zeppelin roadie and
affixed to the internal, papered wall of the partly
demolished house for the photograph to be taken. The house
and surrounding area are by Butterfield Court in the Eve
Hill area of Dudley- the use of Eve Hill may be an in-joke
["Ev-il"] by the band.
